4/03/2011 Fitzpatrick Woolmer Sponsor the Chiltern’s Access Conference

This week Fitzpatrick Woolmer, leading nationwide providers of creative sign and design solutions to the heritage and public sectors, showed their support for outdoor access in the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Beauty, through their sponsorship of the annual Chiltern’s Access Conference.

Chilterns Conservation Board Strategic Access Officer, Annette Venters comments “We are extremely grateful to Fitzpatrick Woolmer for sponsoring the Chilterns Access Conference. This is an annual event bringing together the key access professionals in the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Beauty, it is an opportunity to discuss current access issues and share expertise. Many of the local authorities and countryside organisations in the Chilterns are familiar with Fitzpatrick Woolmer and have sourced signage and interpretation from them in the past. Having Marketing Manager Melanie Scott at the Conference gave it a personal touch and helped to raise awareness of Fitzpatrick Woolmer and their range of products and services.”

Fitzpatrick Woolmer Marketing Manager, Melanie Scott comments “Sponsoring the Chiltern’s Access Conference provided a great opportunity to liaise with key access professionals for the Chiltern’s region whilst also learning about the main access issues being faced. After listening to the conference speakers it is clear that maintaining continued investment in the development of outdoor access is hugely important, if we are to maximise the many benefits that can be achieved when people lead a more outdoor lifestyle. When countryside footpaths and bridleways are not maintained routes become impassable and disconnected, not only discouraging public use, but with the potential of undoing all the great work undertaken over the last few decades by our esteemed Rights of Way and Access experts. For me the thought of seeing our fabulous countryside deteriorate is a very sad one, a view I know would be shared by the many people who like me, regularly visit the countryside and consider it an absolute national treasure.”
