West Somerset Council’s ‘Maritime Mile’ is a stretch of interpretive and interactive displays produced by Fitzpatrick Woolmer to showcase Minehead’s maritime history, heritage, myths and legends.
Innovative displays were developed to capture visitors’ imagination, transporting them to bygone days and interpreting how the resort has evolved over time.
Photo displays present a fantastic opportunity for sharing on Social Media, raising the profile of Minehead’s seafront, and the entire scheme was integrated into an Augmented Reality based App and activity trail.
Display frames were manufactured from stainless steel to withstand the harsh coastal environment, with laser cut detailing to reflect the town’s maritime heritage. Full colour n-viro™ graphic panels help to combat vandalism and graffiti, and tactile etched zinc plaque signs encourage learning and exploration.
