Heritage Trail, All Saints Church Maidstone

All Saints is a parish church situated in Maidstone, Kent. It was largely built by Archbishop Courtenay (14th century) and is one of the largest and finest Perpendicular churches in England. The church opens regularly throughout the week and allows educational visits as well as offering guided tours.

Project Motivation

Interpretation in churches and cathedrals requires a sensitive approach. Often places of ceremony and quiet contemplation, physical installations must be unobtrusive and flexible.

All Saints Church in Maidstone wanted to create a heritage trail throughout the church, allowing visitors to learn more about its history, but needed a system that could be put away when it wasn’t appropriate to be on display.

We provided a range of freestanding stainless steel lecterns that were robust enough to withstand frequent handling and could sit discretely within the historic architecture of this ancient church.

Lecterns were supplied with adjustable feet to accommodate the uneven floor and full colour printed graphics were face fixed with security screws to prevent tampering and allow ease of replacement.
