Grosvenor And Hilbert Park, Blakedown Landscapes

About

Grosvenor and Hilbert Park is situated in the affluent town of Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent. In 2016 the park gained Heritage and Big Lottery Funding to restore the park. The thriving park, hosts events and is known to support a range of flowers in the two woods, which are designated as a Local Nature Reserve.

We worked closely with Royal Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, Blakedowns Landscapes (SE) and Allen Scott landscape architects to balance the design aesthetics, budget and schedule to deliver this exciting interpretation and wayfinding scheme.

A flexible approach to nature reserve signage was required to compliment the new play zones, visitor cafe and woodland walks, combining contemporary signage with rustic wayfinding and interpretation

Stainless steel was used extensively in the modern landscaped areas, merging with oak displays in the wider landscape as visitors venture into the woodland and wetland spaces. Full colour n-viro™ prints were used throughout, affording excellent lightfastness and vandal resistance.

Our creative team was on hand to develop engaging interpretation panels and rubbing plaque signs, to create an exciting interactive discovery trail.
