About

The Business Improvement District of Merthyr Town wanted to encourage visitors to explore further and stay longer. They chose from our contemporary monolith signs, to create a wayfinding scheme that would complement the heritage features and modern architecture that could be found throughout Merthyr Tydfil.

During the project development phase we noticed how the colour pallet changed from one end of town to the other, as heritage features merged with modern developments. The ability to change the graphic style for each monolith meant the scheme could be visually adjusted as you moved from the period architecture at one end of town to the modern college campus at the other, resulting in a scheme that sat comfortably in its immediate surroundings.

Maps were developed to highlight key retail areas and places of interest and monoliths were positioned to create stepping stones, encouraging visitors to explore areas of the town they may otherwise have been unaware of.

Notice boards were fixed to the rear of the monoliths to promote events and shows, and can accommodate posters up to A1 size.

Manufactured from stainless steel with full colour printed n-viro™ trays, our monoliths represent excellent value for money, offering an extremely robust display that is easy to update and refresh.

A total of 8 monoliths were supplied and installed throughout the town and are proving to be a popular point of reference for locals and visitors alike
