Tilgate Park, Groundwork South

About

Tilgate Park is situated in South-East Crawley and is managed by Crawley Borough Council. It is a large park which includes stunning lakes and miles of woodland and bridleways – great for long, leisurely walks. The park also offers a Nature Centre which has a huge assortment of creatures, from endangered species to farmyard animals and a Walled Garden which attracts many visitors each year.

This historic landscape has many rare and specialist trees which are often over looked by casual visitors. To raise the profile of these key features and educate visitors in where to find them within the park, Crawley Borough Council and Groundwork South wanted to develop tree trails and interpretation that would guide and enlighten visitors.

Our creative design studio developed eye-catching interpretation and activity trails to encourage exploration and explain the origins of many of the species.

The final scheme included welcome panels, interpretive lecterns, marker posts with rubbing plaque signs for the activity trail and a self guided leaflet.
