Croft Castle is a beautiful National Trust site located in the heart of Yarpole, Herefordshire and was once Home to the Croft family and Croft baronets. It started out as a Norman stronghold on the border of Wales, but was transformed into a lavish country mansion. Surrounded by magnificent areas of woodland, farmland and parkland, this National Trust site is filled with character and historic beauty for all to see.
As part of the National Trust Hereford’s long-term heritage strategy, Croft Castle, Brockhampton Estate and Berrington Hall needed to be nurtured and enhanced by improving their accessibility.
This project is an excellent example of how bespoke signs can enhance the Spirit of Place. With detailing and construction techniques influenced by the period architecture they fit comfortably into their setting and enhance the visitor experience.
Using traditional carpentry and joinery techniques and materials, these robust oak signs make quite a statement and will continue to blend into their heritage environment as they weather and silver.
Permanently engraved lettering and logos ensure messages will remain legible, even as the oak changes colour, and full colour printed n-viro™ panels display walk and trail information, ensuring visitors get the most from their stay.
